The Dunlop GT501 100/90/19 calls for a 2.15 rim, but I had it on a 1.85.
The Bridgestone BT45 100/90/19 says 2.15 to 2.75, but I would run it on a 1.85 rim and not worry about it.

My rims are labeled as M.T. 1.85 x 19. What does M.T. 1.85 mean? Using a tape measure the rims appear to be between 2.50 & 2.75 inches wide - or about 2 5/8".
Also, when a tire is listed as JMK.3.25/3.50 x 19, what exactly is meant by 3.25/3.50? I know it's 3.25" & 3.50 " and refers to the tire width, but what would be the actual width of the tire?
I guess a link to a tire info page would be handy. JMK.
Rim width is measured inside bead to bead, not outside across the rim.
Here is a link to the tire marking explanation at Metzeler
