when looking for new forks for KZ400, would KZ440 work? was created by primemover
Hi all...
i posted about a bent fork issue the otherday....
just getting my ducks in a row...
would anyone know FOR CERTAIN if
- forks from a KZ440 would work with a KZ400?
and
- if said KZ440 forks would also fit the original
"stem" of the KZ400
?
thanks...

I sure don't know if they will work or not. If it were me, I would FIRST check buykawasaki.com -> parts diagrams. You can check the part numbers for both models. There may be a minor difference that doesn't affect fitment but does make the part numbers different so check the part number on the fork seal. These WILL be the same if the diameter of the tube is the same. If the fork tube diameter is the same, the forks will likely swap whether they have the same part number of not. If the fork seals are different numbers, the sizes are likely different and you won't be able to use the tubes in your fork lowers or clamp them in the trees.

I put a set from a 81 440 ltd on my 75 400. The diameter is the same but I switched to the mag wheels and I think the lower fork is different where the wheel is attached.
