Need some help to purchase missing parts? was created by slickware
I am trying to find two parts for my '82 KZ1100-A Spectre (shaft drive).
First, I'm missing the knob that goes on the end of the choke. It's obviously not a critital part, but I'd like to have it there since it's the only thing I'm really missing. I've checked BikeBandit, but I can't find any parts related to "choke" at all, so I'm assuming either they haven't got it, or i'm calling it the wrong thing.
Second,
I'd like to attempt to put the floorboards on from an '82 KZ1000-P (police) model. BikeBandit has them, but I don't see anything about Forward Controls coming with them. I also don't see any reference to them on the site... where would I look for those, or can I find a universal pair? I already have crash bars on the bike.
Also, will I need to do any modifications to get the floorboards on my bike, or are they a simple bolt-on?
Thanks in advance!
~Adam

Adam...if You could...find a pic of that choke part, and post it up here,so We can see what it looks like,ok.
There's not a whole lot of 1100 action on here,as there aren't as many 1100's as opposed to the 1000's(and down).
Maybe Someone will recognize it,and be able to help You out,Bud.

Here's the area that's missing the knob... I've been calling it the "choke knob" for lack of a better/proper name.

Get the part number from the fiche at buykawasaki.com and you shoudl be able to order the part from a dealer.
The 87 police frame I have has upport welded on for the floor boards. You can look at your frame and a police frame at buykawaaki.com and see if there is any difference.

Visited the kawasaki.com site which lists 1982 KZ1100 Spectre as KZ1100-D1 Spectre (1982) and not as KZ1000-A. (Uncertain about significance of the difference in this instance).
Two part nos. are shown for what may be two slightly different type parts, both with same name.
16012-1010 cap, starter plunger
16012-1011 cap, starter plunger
Difficult to distinguish the difference in the diagram.
But at least it shows the part numbers for "D1". I didn't bother checking the "A".
Sorry having difficulty attempting to post diagram. :pinch:

Best I can tell they are the same part and the ...11 is cheaper at $6 vs $9 for the ...10 part
Use the 'what does it fit' part of the parts lookup...
