Hi, anyone running a Vortex rear sprocket with the CAT 5 hardening? I'm in the process of doing a 530 chain conversion on one of my KZ1000A1's and would like to hear some feedback. Regards, Doug

I've not personally run Vortex but I have a Sprocket Specialist aluminum rear sprocket on my 1000. Seems to hold up fairly well to my abuse.

Hey thanks Doug, I considered SS also. Is your rear sprocket anodized? The Vortex Cat 5 rears are a little pricey but at this point it doesn't matter any more (lol)I'm just waiting for a reply back from them. I think I'll go googling and see if I can find anything. There is some good info on chains I came across

I just put one on my Ninja, seems nice enough. Only put about 5 miles on it so far though It sure does bling though.

My sprocket is just machined alum. Nothing fancy. I'm using a RK 530XSO and like it. On my 'Stripfighter I'm going a 530ZZZ for the strength. But a 530XSO has more tensile strength than most old Kz's need.

530XSO, that's what I got. Came as a kit with both sprockets and a bling-bling RK gold chain. Could have done without the gold but no one asked me.
