'82 GPz 750 - howto seperate rear shocks and springs? was created by bren81
I was wondering if there is a way to seperate the springs from the rear shock assembly. Those are the original equipment on my '82 GPz 750 (designation is Kyb 1177). Anybody got a clue? Would be nice to powdercoat the springs black and touch up the paint on the shock itself.
Or maybe someone should convince me that this is not worth the effort?!
Many thanks in advance for your thoughts on the matter and greetings from Southern Germany!

I don't think it's worth refinishing 25 year old shocks, but if that's what you want to do then drive out the cross pin that locks the upper eye to the shaft.
