Yea I really did a number on my girl, and I have a heck of a lot of posts on a lot of different problems.
But hey, a crash is a crash and we tinkerers must fix!
What is the best source for material to recover a seat?
I imagine that the existing seat material can be removed and used as a pattern to cut the new cover. I realize that the cover material will not be a flat piece but contoured. Perhaps stretchable?
How tough is it to replace the foam? From scratch?
What experiences have there been all?
Holy seat cover Batman !!
P.S. I have access to a sewing machine and could figure out the dimensions of the contour.

Well, it kinda depends on if you want "authentic" or cheap. I've taken material and just streached it on top of a seat that had cracked material. Didn't look all that great but it worked. I also found a fabric, in Walmart, I think, that's like a real high quality "raincoat" kind of material. Kinda streachy w/a "rough" texture. I used this on a seat I tried to rebuild from scratch foam. I think the material would be good but I didn't do a very good job on the foam carving, so that's a project I'm going back to. I was able to get a good replacement seat so I've set that aside. If you have some "chunks" of foam that have been destroyed you could carve out the bad areas and replace w/foam cut to fit. Just a couple of ideas.

Check
THIS
out. May be an alternative for you and the price isn't bad. There are some reviews for it too. Also, there is a foam kit at the bottom of the page after you click on the cover kit.
