How Do You Clean a New Drive Chain? was created by 79MKII
I bought a new drive chain with silver side plates. It came covered in some kind of grease/rust preventative and I'd like to clean it up to show off the silver. I don't want to remove the grease from the orings but I'd like to shine up the outer plates. Any good tips for cleaning a new chain??
Thanks
Thanks

I partially soak a rag in wd-40 (some use kerosene) and just wipe it off.

Kerosene or WD would be the best bet as most carb or brake cleaners will dry out rubber parts such as o rings.
