Problems hooking up my speedometer cable was created by XL777
I seem to be having an issue getting my speedometer cable to seat, and thread on to the assembly that is attached to the front wheel. It came off fine but now it wont go inside. Also when I try to thread it on it seems like the threads are smaller then the threaded cover on the cable. Any suggestions?

Jeez that made no sense I meant that I can't get the cable nut to thread over the speedo bushing, somehow the cable nut seems larger now, and no it does not look stripped. The tounge that comes out of the cable is that supposed to hook into something. Because all I can see is a bit of metal it rests against in the busing

It sounds to me that you have the cable reversed. The end with the slot in the cable, goes into your speedo drive on the front axle. Slide the cable into the drive and turn the inside cable slightly while gently pushing to get the cable to seat. The end that is square goes into the speedo itself. The end nuts are 2 different sizes...
If you have trouble at the speedo end, just roll the bike ahead slightly and it will go in...
