How Do You Lift the Front Wheel Off the Ground?

If I want to lift the FRONT,I put the jack under the oil-filter bolt.
If I want to lift eh REAR,I put it under the center-stand mount(center-stand is off the bike, btw).
This has worked flawlessly for me for a lot of years now, with no issues.
If I plan on leaving it raised, yes I WILL use a come-a-long,or a tie-down,and secure it to the rafters.

Sounds like a winner.Maybe not applicable on the 750 twin, but on the large fours, I use a short length of 2x4 with a shallow hole drilled in it which fits snugly around the oil plug and keeps the 2x4 held in position under the engine whether using floor jack or bottle jack.

- Blue handles better
A "cherry picker" style engine hoist may work as well.

Place tie down on floor.
Place 2x12 over tie down.
Place bike ON centerstand ON 2x12.
Attach hooks on tie downs to rear of frame on each side.
Push down on back of bike and tighten straps as you go.
Front wheel will be suspended off the ground.
I have used that successfully many times.

Or, you can use a long tie down and a 2x12.
Interesting method.
