A warped disc must be turned on a lathe to re true. I was lucky enough to find a couple of good used rototrs for mine on ebay for about $15 each. Turning them costs more than that.id say they are warped.Heat?both sides are about the same?

id say your life is much more valuable than saving a few bucks and stress cracking a brake rotor;)
I totaly agree,, brakes are the last thing you want to screw with,, do them right

I'm surprised that the manual says rotor warp of 1 mm (which is .040" ) is allowable. That's WAYYYY more than I would think is allowable. I would have thought it would be more like about 1/10 of that, but that's just a guess based on car rotors. Can warped disks be straitened in a press or? I bought a 96zx9 front end for my 76 kz and just discovered the disks are out 2.2 mm.So this means the disk will push the pads back about 1.1 mm on each side of the disk.i dont have a spec for the zx9 but the kz manual says 1mm. total is too much.
If your rotor really is warped 2.2mm (.090" ) total, it's junk. No way you could cut enough steel off the faces to get them true again and still have enough left to run. That is a seriously warped rotor.
