I just landed a parts bike. A 83' KZ750 with mags and disc brakes. I would like to convert my 78 KZ650 to accept these wheels.

On my donor bike there is a bracket bolted to the frame for the brake pedal assembly. My KZ650’s brake pedal is bolted to the frame. Will I need to drill into my frame to attached the bracket assembly from the donor bike or can I somehow set it up the disc brakes with the current brake assembly that is stock on my KZ650?

You will need to mount the master cylinder (MC) either with a brcket and some bolts, or some have had a tab welded onto the frame to mount the MC.

Also the brake rod and linkage will need to be changed from your drum brake version to the disk's rod etc.
The 750's parts may just swap over, or you can possibly find some on ebay or from someone here. I think I may even have those parts from what's left of my 650c3.

Oh and swap on the front fender also, as I see yours is missing. The front fender acts as a brace as well, and you need that support or your front end could get squirly.

Thanks for the info! Here is a picture of what I am tryimg to explain. I'm not sure if I can use this KZ750 setup on my KZ650 as I would have to drill holes in my frame to attach the brake assembly plate.

The fenders are missing because I am refinishing them. The bike was Mary Kay pink and I just had to change it on my profile!
