In the spirit of "closing" threads, I am back to report that my spring & seal replacement was a great success.
Had a local garage spin out the allen bolts for a nominal fee. Going back tomorrow to have him spin them back in.
The only hangup was getting the old seals out. I mangled the first one over the course of about half an hour until I finally went to the local parts store and borrowed an oil seal puller. With the right tool, they came out lickety split. Go figure. :laugh:
I had a little trouble seating the new seal on one and the second popped in with no trouble at all. I used a little piece of PVC borrowed from Mr. PLUMMEN which was the perfect size and helped keep the new seals spic & span.
This was definitely an easy job. Thanks for the help, fellas.
