Measure lip to lip on your rim and post it. I have a 1977 KZ 1000 A1 that I am chopping, I took a 16" HD rim and laced it to a 1975 CB 750 chus drive hub,Lip to lip s 4" I can run a 160 with no problems.

looks like the rims measure front 2 3/4 and the rear is 4 3/4 wide, I can get a finger in between the swing arm and the tire now,

Are those measurements bead to bead, or outside to outside? I think all the tire manufacturers list tire dimensions and minimum, maximum, and recommended rim widths for their tires on the web.
