I finally got the 82 LTD to a point where she is rideable. Went to DMV today, got her registered and took her for a ride tonight. She starts fine, idles okay but seems to take far longer than my 550 to come off choke. The real issue I have with this bike is a vibration. It doesn't seem to be the engine. I don't feel anything in the seat (or my seat) and nothing really bad in the bars. Tires are new and were balanced. I've checked to make sure the bead is set all around both. The vibration seem worse when accelerating with the engine slightly bogged (I'm used to the 6-speed on the 550 and have been caught in the wrong gear accelerating) and on deceleration/downshifting. Is it possible this is caused by the rear wheel being out of line? Chain/sprocket rub? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
