KZ750 wider wheel and tire questions. was created by Sims426
I have a 1980 kz750 and am wondering where I can get an offset sprocket. I have a rear wheel from an FJ1200 yamaha, and now I have to find a swingarm. I'm wanting to run at least a 160 tire. I'm just not sure where to find the sprockets. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I have a 80 KZ750E that has a 160/60/17 rear tire on it, 83-85 GPz750 aluminum swingarm modified for dual shocks, and a 99 GSX750 4.5" rear wheel. I had to mill 1/2" off the sprocket carrier and need to get an offset sprocket myself.
I'm going to use 520 chain, and AFAM sells 520 offset sprockets for the Suzuki's that should work on the KZ750 output shaft, at least according to the measurements at JT Sprockets.
Or I may just make my own offset sprocket by combining two sprockets.

Did you have to do any mods for the swinger to fit between the rails? You milled a half an inch off of what? Sorry for all the questions, I want to do this right. Do you have any pics? Thanks for the info too.

I had to drill the pivot bolt holes in the frame to 17mm from the stock 16mm (still need to actually, haven't got around to it yet), right now it has the 16mm pivot bolt holding it in place. The swingarm fit perfectly between the bolt holes, no mods needed.
I had to mill approximately 1/2 off the face of the cush hub where the sprocket mounts, still need to rethread the sprocket mounting bolts and shorten them. Had to make some spacers to center the wheel also, made them out of titanium since I had a piece of it.
Project thread with pics is in the Projects forum.

Try and find a swingarm that uses a 16mm pivot bolt, that will make it easier to install since the KZ750 has a 16mm pivot bolt. In the same vein, try to find a swingarm that also uses the same diameter axle as the wheel you are going to use. Things will be ever so much easier if you do.
