cosmetic wheel repair was created by mr anderson
I am wanting to make the wheels on my 77kz650 more visualy appealing. A few of the things I am thinking are (1) having them media blasted and repainting them like they were stock or leaving them as they come out of media blasting. Has anyone ever done this to their wheels? I have a buddy that has a media blaster so that portion would not cost me much if anything.

Bead blasted my wheels. Primed with DP40 epoxy primer, then painted with catalyzed acrylic enamel. The finish has held up well for over 3 years with no chips. I didn't clear coat but should have for more gloss and durability.

I had mine glass bead blasted then clear gloss powder-coated. They turn out looking kind of dull. I wouldn't do it again. Before I had them blasted I used Aircraft Stripper on them, then used a small wire brush on my drill and they looked pretty good - really pretty shiny, and I now wish I'd just clear coated them at that point. The picture of the wheels on the bike is after blasting and powder coating, the other is after stripping and wire brushing but before media blasting.
