Frames 79/80 LTD vs A was created by supercharged
I have search for a definitive answer, and as of yet, have not found one.
Looking to determine the differences in frames between the LTD and standard KZ1000 around the years 1979 and 1980.
I have heard of some rear peg mounts that might be different, but what about geometry? Didn't the A models have larger rear wheels... which would change the geometry if all else is the same?

I'm not a motorcycle expert (and I've never played one on TV) but I know for sure the LTD frames and the standard frames are different. The LTD frames have more rake to give them that "chopper" look. The rear clip of the frames are different also. You are correct that wheel sizes are different also. LTD's using a 16" rear wheel and a 19" front.

Ive converted my 80 LTD completely over to a normal KZ1000,tank, side panels, wire wheels seat and all. All I can say is it rides just fine. If theres a difference, I cant feel it and I have 2 other KZ1000's. I was just never big on the LTD look myself but whatever floats your boat.

As was pointed out by VterBob, there is actually very little difference between the A and B models with respect to geometry. I looked at Mother Kaw's specs for the KZ1000A4 and KZ1000B4 and found this:
KZ1000A4 steering angle: 41 (in degrees)
KZ1000B4 steering angle: 41 (in degrees)
KZ1000A4 caster: 26 (in degrees)
KZ1000B4 caster: 26 (in degrees)
KZ1000A4 trail: 87mm
KZ1000B4 trail: 90mm
KZ1000A4 steering angle: 41 (in degrees)
KZ1000B4 steering angle: 41 (in degrees)
KZ1000A4 caster: 26 (in degrees)
KZ1000B4 caster: 26 (in degrees)
KZ1000A4 trail: 87mm
KZ1000B4 trail: 90mm
