Shock question. was created by coppertales
Does anyone make a shock for a 1982 KZ1100A2 that works ok but does not cost an arm and a leg? The ones on my bike are completely shot. It doesn't help that I weigh 250 lbs and have the Vetter saddlebag setup on it too. Thanks....chris3

you could use hardly shocks. I have a set of sportster take offs that I picked up on ebay for 12 shipped on my 650.
I had to swap the shock bushings and the lower shock mount is a little to big (i just ground it down, or you can bend the lower shock mount slightly)
they are cheap and they work....

You sound like a good fit for the ones JC Whitney sells. They are decent quality (for cheap shocks), I ran a set for about 20 years. The only thing is they come with the stiffest springs which was a poor match to me because I only weigh 160. For you, they might be spot on.
