im going to put all this stuff on my bike!! thanks for all the pro's and cons about dual discs up front. everyones advice was weighed and understood...steve

I did the dual-disc conversion on my 650 about 2 years ago, and I wouldn't go back to the single disc if someone paid me!

If you have any questions or run into any problems, don't be afraid to ask.
Quite a few members here have tackled the same conversion before, so there's quite a talent pool of info available.

so far the only problem ive had is today when i was making sure i had all the hardware i found one of the mount holes in the caliper was buggered...dont it figure after i rebuild em i find that? luckily ive been collecting a lot of parts for this switch and had a spare one. 10 mins later all switched...steve

If you haven't already got one, and can afford it, I'd suggest getting a brake bleeder kit.
It will not only take out the hassle and effort of bleeding the brakes manually, but also is more thorough IMHO and takes about 1/3 of the time to do.

The one I have is a Miti-Vac, and also can be used to test vacuum pressure. Best $24 I've ever spent too!

i have a small electric powered vacuum pump and an old well sealed jiffy jar with fittings attached that ive used many times on my vehicles...works for me. one question though..should i bleed out one side first or alternate from one side to the other?...steve

After filling both lines with brake fluid, you would want to bleed one side at a time.
And just like with a car, bleed the caliper that is the farthest away from the master cylinder first.
I know that's kind of hard to do on a bike. But IIRC, there is a minute diff in brake hose length between sides on our particular bikes.
