you wont want a z1-r master they are a pain as the are cable operated go to a wrecking yard and get a late model sport bike dual disk set-up it will work a lot better and it will be easy to get parts for.

oldkaws4ever: You can mount a rear brake MC that has a remote reservoir. Checkout the "... Stage II' link below for details. I did not use an '80 KZ1000 rear MC because you can't get a rebuilt kit for it. So I used one from an '81+ KZ1000.

I suggest a front master cylinder off a 95-96 GPz1100, it has the threaded hole to mount the mirror.
According to kawasaki.com parts diagrams the following models use the same master cylinder.
