i bought a set of tapered coil fork springs for a kz900 online after i had given up trying to find a link to the best ones available --- frustrated i settled for a pair of progressive springs off e-bay they were only forty bucks and were at least the right length when they arrived soooo..in they went..mine were shot.
.now i;m thinking they are a little soft for spirited canyon riding...does anyone have experience with adding a spacer under the fork cap to provide some tension at rest(preload??)..or a link to the badest springs....or both..or does anyone have exp. with any place they have sent their forks for re-valveing..i was just gonna use two washers and 1 inch tall spare socketts today...thank you peace craig

yes you can add spacers that is nornally how you would do that. you can try race tech suspensions the build a valve kit for older suspensions stock kawi forks don't use valves they relie on bleed holes to do the job of the valves the race tech emulators add a valve to the system. they should wake that suspension of yours right up.

A new set of Progressive fork springs includes a short piece of PVC pipe in the box. The idea is that you will cut two spacers out of the PVC and use them to set the preload.

thanks i'll try both ideas...i was gonna use socketts just cause they may not wear and clogg somthing(not plated ones) but could not push hard enough to start cap threads so gave up for now..and just put new oil in ..so i'll try the oil next week...my air fork caps i installed look cool (gold colored alum.) and i think i can relly notice a difference at running speed ..no steady bobbing a lttle on ripples like before...i put 8-9 psi in the fork any one know a better p.s.i there is no connector tube between caps.blocked off...thanks for the answers as allways..peace craig
