i built a 1166 gs 1150 that made 148 horse and 110 foot pounds of torque with 33 cr's on it for carbs all its power was made below 8500 it was an amazing engine it needed at least a set of 40's to really bring it to life but even still it had to be one of the strongest carburated street motors ive ever built. the only ones that had torque numbers like that were 120inch+ harleys that ive built for guys. it was an awesome ride and it weighed about 525pounds.
i dont know torque number wise on mine, but 5th gear up a good hill at 50 was just a twist...torquey..give it the spurs and you had to really hang on after 4500..all bets were off from 4500-8500....i was told mine did 120 hp at rear wheel on dyno with smoothbores that werent 100%....1198 cc s...i dont know (remember) what carbs were on it when i had it..wasnt the smoothies..but they were spot on...choke it...breathe on starter....no choke after 25 secs and never a fart or a hiccup...man i miss that bike....if i buy another old bike, it s gonna be an 1150 gs........
