Ok, im ready to get rolling on my fork rebuild, im getting a set of new never used progressive fork springs from a member here. Im ordering the fork seals and dust covers along with a long list of goodies from jeff at z1. Are there any special tools i will need to rebuild them? Thank's Jim

Hey Jim; I just went through this on my Z1A. You will need a pick type probe to remove the wire retainer on the seal. I usually remove the old seal by cutting it (carefully) with a small cold chisel. Others use prying type tools and I always end up with dents in the aluminum housing. Anneal the lower sealing washer and reuse it. Heat to cherry red and quench in cold water. Keeping the damper from rotating while torquing the lower bolt is sometimes an issue. I usually run it in with a 3/8 impact (set on low!) and hex driver and then torque to spec. Use a 6 point socket on the cap so it doesn't get marked up. Pretty straight forward all in all. Good luck, Steve
