The Busa and zx14 use 530 so I'm guessing it will be strong enough for an old kz.

Definately fork out the bucks for the 530 O-ring chain.
I've changed a few chain and spocket sets over my life, and usually, there was always about a hundred of miles or so of rapid chain stretch with non-O-ring chains. I'd be adjusting the thing constantly before it broke in and stabilized, and I didn't have to adjust it almost every ride.
But these guys talked me into the 530 O-ring conversion. I installed it a couple years ago, and I still haven't had to adjust it. But I'm also pretty religious about cleaning the thing. It's important to not let any grit build up in your chain which will cause the o-rings to wear out, allowing the grit get into the rollers.
I also use a wax type lube on mine.
And don't worry about it breaking. I run mine hard. Hard launches, bang shifts and all. Not a prob.
