I am putting on triple disc mag wheels on my z1 900, what thickness metal should i use for the rear master cylinder mount? I am going to bolt it off the right rear motor mount, and the master cylinder is off of an 03 suzuki gsxr 600 with the remote resovour. Thanks, jim.

The mount I made for my 900 is something like 3/32" mild steel with a couple nuts on the back to bolt the M/C to.

Very nice setup Doug. That's what I want to do but for some reason I can't bring myself to weld or alter my frame, however I've been considering it more and more.

I had welded a stock mount cut off another bike in the stock location that is quite a bit higher than shown because I used a stock-type master cylinder. It takes one of those rods to poke the center of the plunger upwards when the brake pedal is pushed. I later mounted a Ninja 250 master cylinder which looks much like StreetfighterKZ posted and had to fab a bar to attach to the master cylinder and brake pedal... the one he did is in a much better position anyway, because on the Z1, you won't be able to pull the battery out the side with the master cylinder mounted where it would be on say a 77 or 78 with rear disk brake. You have to pull the battery out from the top which means cutting your battery box a bit.
