Fork tube diameters on the KZ900 are 37mm, as are the later successor KZ1000.
The Z1/Kz650/900/1000 and maybe some others are 36mm not 37mm. Also the early police bikes are 38mm.

You are correct...to be even more precise, fork diam. on the 650/900/1000 series is 36.4mm and that of the 1000/1100 series is 38.4mm

I had a set of Paolo Tarrozzi clip-ons on my 1000 for a while. They're good quality but the problem was that the wat they assembled would let the bar move a little from it's original position.

The actual castings are different, because the mounting brackets (INSTRUMENTS, BOLT HOLES FOR BRACKETS, ETC) are different.
I have an extra KZ1100 triple clamp if it will help
