From the outter most edge of the tire. The chain does not have the gaurd on it, and when you eyeball the chain to the front sprocket it looks straight but I notice it does come toward the inside just a hair. Where can I find the correct spacers, Z1 doesn't seem to have them.Kingchiefa wrote:
Just wondering. Where are you measuring?..Noticed I have about a 1-1/2" gap on the left side between the tire and the swing arm and about a 1/4" gap on the right side between the tire and the swing arm....
When you say tire, do you mean the tire or the wheel or something else?
Also, does the chain guard line up over the chain?

If not already done, could study the parts diagram on kawasaki.com to determine if possibily already have all the correct parts, but likely incorrectly assembled, as tire should be equally spaced from swingarm on both sides.
Let us know if need assist with finding parts diagram on the kawasaki.com site.
Good Luck!

Yeah I can def put up pictues later today. I am pretty sure they put the spacers on wrong. The adjustments were off by about a 1/4 of a nuch. I readjusted them to plumb and the sway got worse ( probably because the spacers are wrong ) so I just adjusted it back to the way it was, I'm calling the shop right now to see what they are gonna do to fix this since I paid them 350 to do the job right. Pics up at around 5 530 mt time.
Under NO circumstances do you want the adjusters NOT at the same mark on both sides. If the wheel is not straight, it will make the bike "crab". This situation can KILL you in a banking tun. As mentioned before in this thread, They either put the wrong spacers on each side or they flipped them around. If a professional bike shop did this, I would report them. They created a potentially deadly situation. That mechanic deserves to be fired.

I also noticed that there is a gap between the spacer and the oil/dust seal. The spacer should fill the entire opening of this seal. That is what keeps the water and dirt out of your starboard bearing. These IDIOTS definitely put the wrong spacer on that side. I would also question if they put the correct spacer between the inside bearing and the sprocket drive hub. This mechanic is dangerous.

Can you drop a pic of your brake side spacers? If you can't see it in the pic i posted the brake side spacer almost looks like a washer. I don't know if they are the original parts I looked at a diagram on kawasaki.com and I can't tell if they are correct or not. I will break it down when I get home from work and take pics of it all laid out.OK I took a look at my bike. I have a LTD wheel on a GPZ with a GS1100 swingarm. I used the stock spacers on the wheel, THAN I added some extra to fill in the extra space for the extra with of the swing arm. Take a look at this picture of the sprocket side spacer, and compare it with the the length of the spacer you have on your bike. You will see the extra 3 washers I added to space out the swing arm. Ignore those three washers. I on purpose took the picture from the exact rear to demonstrate how short that spacer should be.
