It's a spray on or tubed compound you apply to the back side of the brake pad reducing the vibration during braking.
My understanding is the brake pad makes the rotor act like a violin string when the bow is moved across it.

I doubt if drilling the rotor would help because the noise comes from the pad vibrating against the rotor face.

I had the same problem.The pads I was using had too much metal in them and no matter what i did,they would squeal...put in the cheaper pads and problem solved.

now it just doesnt stop! :laugh:Try the cheaper pads from Z1ent.
