Anyone know what the original gearing is for a 1980 LTD 1000 is? Also, where should I order from? Z1? Sprocket Specialties (expensive!) Installation dooz and don'tz?

You can also get the kind of lock washer that doesn't need the hole: it is the kind you bend over onto the flat of the drive axle nut to keep it in place. They hold a lot tighter than the ones with the little tang that sticks into a hole.Be sure and get the front sprocket with the hole in it for the lockwasher. If it doesn't have the hole, refuse to use it. I think we had some talk a while ago about Z1 ent sprockets do not have the hole, so ask before buying. Dennis Kirk sells Sunstar sprockets that are real nice with the correct hole. Running without the lockwasher will result in the nut coming off and your sprocket sliding off the splines, then you have no gears or worse. Sure you can use Loctite on the threads, but better off with the correct parts.
