78 motor fit 77 frame?? was created by Kojack1982
I have a 1978 KZ1000 B LTD that i didnt have a title for and picked up an 77 kz1000 frame with a vin of KZT00 A I wanted to get the new frame powder coated and swap the everything over to the 77 just not sure if it all will fit. If anyone can enlighten me
Also I picked up a 82 gs1100 swingarm and want to keep the stock kz tire for now but im assuming im going to need a new chain any ideas on length??

I'm not a 1000 guy but I think the mounts for the body work is different?

New chain and offset sprocket. I think 5/8's if you want to run a 160. Don't know on the length though.

Are you using a 630 chain or 530? Do you have a chain breaker? If you do go with a 120 link. The gs arm is about an inch and a half longer. I went with a 530 chain and sprockets and a 110 link wasn't even close.
