cheap rearsets! was created by wiccadogg
heres my idea for cheap rearsets.
i'm sure it's been done before. if not it should have been.
this is what i did.
i threaded the upper posts that originally held stock driver peg brackets. also threaded a set of freestyle/bmx bicycle foot pegs to match.
the new pegs screw on. original acorn nut was reinstalled, inside of foot peg, using a lock washer to keep pegs secure.

original shifter had to be bent to get the shape needed.
hole was drilled\threaded for new shifter peg.
i used an old toyota head bolt covered with 3\8 hose and washers.
after shifter peg was installed the excess shifter was cutoff. the inside end of shifter peg bolt was hammered down to prevent bolt from becoming loose.

on the brake side, the stock brake peddel was cut to size, drilled, threaded.
i used the same style bolt as the shifter peg and hammered down end to prevent bolt from becoming loose.

Cool man. I like the idea of using bmx pegs. I would consider something similar because they look cool, but I need pegs that flip up because my bike is kickstart only. I just reversed the footpeg mounting brackets left to right and upside down, then mounted some pegs upside down. Works pretty good as well.

Good ideas. I've been going over different ways to do a cheap set of rearsets. My single mounting bolt for the pegs is a little further forward though, but I have some spare sets of pegs that I put on to move them further back. I'd just need to shorten the shifter/brake levers, similar to what you have done.

I like how this KZ700's pegs and shifter set up:

With a drill, a dremel and some plate you could make folding bike pegs. Just an idea.
