rookie here...need help to lower 1978 kz 650 was created by coldkz
just ended up with a 1978 kz 650c... my race car sits idle as im pumped up to hot rod this old cruiser....already starting to glass up a new rear section and a solo seat...looking to lower it ...any ideas

Possibly shorter rear shocks and bringing the front forks further up in the clamps will help. Avoid going with too short of rear shocks as you might be bottoming out going over slight bumps in the road.

1977 KZ650-C1 Original Owner - Stock (with additional invisible FIAMM horn)

Replace the cast wheels with wires and have them laced up with 13" rims.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Nice bike you found there and welcome to the forum. Since I'm somewhat short in the inseam as SOP I normally replace the rear shocks on my 650's with shocks from a 500 Vulcan. They are found easily on ebay, look stock, can be had pretty cheaply and do a good job of dropping the rear end a bit. Here are a couple of pics of my bikes with them installed.
