quite possibly the original brake fluid!! was created by Shadow_Hare
I finally got around to addressing some of the minor issues now that the major issue [carbs] has been fixed. Figured I'd check out the master cylinder, since the window was completely opaque, and to my surprise...
And after a little jerry-rigging...

i have one of those lol cept its a peanut butter jar. makes a perfect bleeder with a vacuum pump. i had that mud in my brake system when i got the bike too. the funny part is the brakes seemed to work fine. i also cheated and used an ultrasonic cleaner on my whole system

sorry kawickrice, nothing but brake sludge in that jar. funny you mention that, though, bc during construction i did feel an awful lot like the MacGyver smoker from half-baked. "All right. Then get me an avocado, an ice pick and my snorkel. Trust me, bro. I've made bongs with less..."

It's just a shame that brake sludge isn't from an early Z1 or you could probably sell it to someone on eBay as "Original Z1 Brake Fluid - $200." I've seen Z1 key fobs go for that much. BTW, thanks for passing along the brake vacuumer tip. I suspect there will soon be a shortage of peanut butter jars as everyone on this site starts copying it. It really is a great and inexpensive way to improve the brake bleeding process. Ed

that is too bad, ed. that would've really helped offset the price of the ol' girl! I used to use that set up to bleed my clutch in my car. I thought about trying it out that way bc there was so much gunk built up that i couldnt get it through by just pumping the brake. plus its fun to make things and it works really fast. be sure to keep an eye on the fluid level if you try it, bc once its clean it will go through there pretty quickly! cheers, shadow
