Axle for GS arm? was created by sbulla
In case I get the GS1100e swingarm in shape to install on my '80 KZ1000 LTD, what axle do I need to find that will be long enough and the correct diameter?
I'll be using the stock wheel.

If the axle diameter is the same, the GS one will work. If not, then you'll have to find wheel bearings with the same outside diameter as the KZ, and the same inside diameter as the GS. I had to do this with my 88' Gixxer arm but I ended up having a machinist friend make me a new axle and wheel spacers.

You need to use the gs axle. It is 20mm so you might have to call all balls and order a set. I used a spoke suzuki wheel so I lucked out when it came to bearings.

I used the stock GS arm when I did my swap. Check eBay if you can't find one.

Be careful on ebay. I ordered two GS 1100 axles and both were too short for the swingarm.. Must have been a difference between the "E" and the other models, or the sellers didn't know what they had.
Good Luck, Jim

I've seen posted on here a few times that a KZ1300 axle will work as well.
