z1 needs stretch, wider tire, and disc breaks..HELP was created by 75z1
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has done any projects for extended swing arms...I'm thinkin of maybe going with a spoked harley rim on the back, or even a sport bike wheel.. I have a good idea how to do it. but pictures and advice from someone who has already done this would be amazing

thanks alot for the pics, the bike looks amazing.. but your back wheel..I notice its hub..is that just a wider rim laced on to the stock hub??? and how hard was it for the chain alignment with the wider tires..and is your front raked or just lowered

Yes the front end was raked, just cut heated , bent and three gusset plates were tig welded in place.
The swingarm was cut, and steel plugs were cut and put in all 4 sides and tig welded.
It maintains the stock width. the tire is a 150 width.
Buchannon spokes were laced to the stock hub with a 4 inch harley rim.
I have a 3/8" offset on front, and a 3/8" on the back. I used an aluminum rear sprocket with countersunk bolt holes and flatheads tapped into the carrier, for clearence. I think if I used a 530 chain setup, a 180 tire could be used.
This chassis has a 6 inch longer wheel base.
I have steering dampeners mounted on each side.
This is built just for a cruise night bike.
It is a 76, I have a 1015, stock motor freshened up, dual Z1R discs on the front, custom lowered trip tree, which can lower the gauges.
It has a small LTD tank and small front fender.
I reupholstered a stock seat, It is very nice, cost me $200 alone for seat. Check out the rear axle, 2 sided nuts, solid stainless steel, with stainless adjuster plates.
Lean, low and cool, like a drag bike.
I tried to sell it in the past, no one wanted it for 2 grand.
Hope this gives you some ambition and ideas.

I can't explain enough how much i appreciate the information..This is the exact setup i was looking to do..prolly no rake for a while but lowered and stretched, with the harly rim...just didnt know if i could lace the stock hub to it or not...and the fact that i can keep it stock width is awsome too becuase i thought i was going to have to widen the ass a lil bit..and i was kinda wonderin how the chain set up work but i understand it now..Looks like i'm going to have to get the welder out this winter..I wanna do it now bu i literally just got the bike put together and running on monday..I had 2 bikes a blown up one and a wrecked one so i combined them both to make my new baby...oh and who did your seat
