I have a friend parting out a Nighthawk and i bought the shocks.
They are 14.5 in. long. It raised the rear a bit but there is some preload and i see how it handles before i consider lowering them.
Nice shocks. Adjustable dampning and the preload.

Those look like nice shocks. Can you tell a difference in the ride?
I have 14 inch eye to eye piggybacks on my 900 that I love, I have 900 shocks on my 650 which I dont like. Now that the subject has come up what are stock eye to eye for the 900 and eye to eye for the 650 supposed to be? I have switched so many times I forgot the factory specs between the two. I do know longer shocks will make the bike almost straight up on the side stand and short ones make it want to fall over while on the sidestand. I could use some new shocks for the 650 so I am just wondering.

I think the 900/1000 shocks are 13.5 in.
Some of the bikes have longer shocks.
I have no idea about the 650 shocks.
On my lTD's i run 11.5 in. They really lowered the bikes.
I don't know how they handle as i didn't want to ride down my muddy driveway.
I can hardly wait to ride. Roy

I have a zrx1200 set on my 900, they are 14"+ eye to eye. The cornering is much faster(lighter) than stock. And the shocks feel much stiffer even with factory settings, i think due to the upright shock position of the kz900 compared to the zrx.

I am looking to put ZRX rear shocks on my '79 LTD1000 in the near future.
Any modifications that need to be done or do they bolt right up?
Thanks
