I swapped to Super Bike bars on my 650 several years ago, and also notched the control housings with a Dremel tool to run the wires outside the bars.
One more suggestion to add to the lot, be very careful to NOT push the clutch perch and master cylinder tightly against the control housings, as it will pinch the wires.
The wires move slightly during turning, and having those wires squished between the perch and m/c WILL eventually cause it to rub through the wire covers and short out.
I found this out the hard way, which nearly left me stranded halfway to Vegas one year. :pinch:
