thanks for the comments guys.
one of the hard things about trying to do custom work when you don't have the bike for test fitting,is being able to forsee all the little obstacles that can hang you up.
it looks like that yosh gets pretty cozy with the swing arm  .

It does. I don't have it mounted right now so these old pics are the best I got. Keep in mind this is not a stock setup, I think it may be sucked in just a little tighter and my shocks are longer. It will still give you some idea of how the pipe runs. Hope this helps...

thanks for the pics.i can see that your spool/shock bolts looks like a very nice solution to a tricky lil problem.
t-dub,
do you think some spool/shock bolts could work for you?
i could weld some threaded lugs on the bottom of the axle plates which looks like they would work and not be in the way.although they would look like "threaded bungs welded on the bottom of the axle plate".
not my idea of the cleanest solution but.
porchev,
the front edge of the front gusset plate and the area where the plate and pivot tube meet has a weld,i sanded it down as much as i dared to get the plate clean.tig welding is very sensitive to dirt or paint or anything that can contaminate the weld puddle.i couldn't get the front edge (where the weld was) clean enough without compromising the weld itself in order to tig weld it.there is also the front corners of the plate where the legs meet the pivot tube that were unwelded from the factory and dirt and gease had built up in there(no telling what had built up under the plate.if you penetrate 100 percent it will pull contaminates off the bottom up through the puddle).tig welding seems to draw anything within an inch of it to the weld puddle.so i mig welded those two joints.it seemed to be the best solution.otherwise you cut the plate out clean it all and weld the plate back then weld in the support tubes.okay, call me lazy for taking the easy way out. :silly:
