Installation notes:
1. Before the pump will go fully into place, the pin in the output shaft must be aligned with the grove in the oil pump shaft by turning the rear wheel around.
Good Fortune!

If missing, could:
Find a test screw with threads that fit, and longer than needed to lightly seat.
With info from the test screw, install pump using replacement screws of length that won't bottom out when tightening the pump into place.
kawasaki.com shows the tank, but I didn't see the pump.
Maybe babbits --- I'll check.
Good Fortune!

Something must be missing then theres just a hole there with nothing inside to drive the pump. Doesnt matter if it works anyway just so its there. I cant find anything that shows the pump in any parts diagrams. Got to be an old timer that knows, I should, I bought one brand new & tossed the pump & bottle. :S
Tanks and/or pumps on ebay bring big money. :pinch:

But not yet found the engine part that drives the pump.
Good Fortune!

FSM says:

The counter-shaft sprocket fits onto the output shaft.
Best I can tell, there's supposed to be a "pin" inside the hollow end of the output shaft that engages the "u" at end of the oil pump shaft.
If interpreting correctly, the oil pumps through the "u" shaft into the output shaft, and out holes to both sides of the sprocket which flings it around underneath the sprocket guard over the chain.
When looking through the hole where the pump shaft goes, does it appear that the "u" end of the pump shaft aligns to enter the end of the output shaft where the missing "pin" is supposed to be.
Not a clear pic in the manual. But the output shaft does appear hollow.
Gonna need someone with a better memory.
Good Fortune!
