Anyone have experience with mounting 750B4 hardware on a 750G frame?
I have a 750B that is not in bad shape and I would like to repair, but AL state law makes it ridiculously hard to get a salvage title bike back on the road. So, I am considering moving all the hardware onto a frame with clear title.
I have a line on a 750G frame, and was wondering what compatibility issues I might face if I chose to use it.

So the G model is an inline 4 750 is that correct? and you want to put a 750 B Twin motor in it? If not excuse me, I'll go away, DOH! :blink:
If so, I'm not sure there is enough clearance in the frame cradle in height. The motor mounts are pretty close I think, but I believe the cradles are quite a bit shorter on the 4s. I've got a B2 model without a motor in the frame right now, I can measure it for you so you can compare against the G model. If I'm on the right set of rails here.
Since you won't have matching frame and motor numbers anyway, wouldn't it be a lot easier to have the necks swapped out on them.. those are the same dimensions last I checked.
Might save a lot of work as apposed to trying to stretch the cradle, rework motor mounts, chain alignment, etc. Unless that is illegal where you live, then I don't recommend it.

The 750B and 750G are both 750 twins
I'm the one with the 750G frames(s) that contacted you.
I originally assembled everything on a 750G frame, but when I had problems with the title I transferred everything to a 79 750B frame. I even used the 750G swing arm on the 79 so I could use the G mag wheels. But then I bought the Morris Mag wheel kit and swapped the 79 swing arm back on again.
The only original 79 parts on my bike are the frame and wiring harness :laugh:
Here it is as an 80 750G
And as a 79 750B4 (frame and wiring harness is anyway)

Ah so the G is an 80 twin. Cake walk for him then. Nice bike, btw.
The 80 I got only came with motor and frame. I stole the motor, and the frame has become the front of a VW trike.

Aw crap, I forgot!!
The only part from the 79 that won't work on the 80 is the side covers. The 80 side covers will work on the 79, but I don't think the 79 side covers will work on the 80.
79 side cover has four tabs, 80 has three.
