Apologies if this post is not in the correct forum. I couldn't figure out exactly where to post it.
What "agreed value" do you think is appropriate for insurance? This year, I started with $3000 but that seems a bit high. The insurance company surely will not pay more than what it's worth but will take my payment anyway until time to reimburse me for my loss, then telling me that it was overinsured.
I finally settled on $1500 value, but could not find very many of these bikes for sale. It is in very good condition, clean, and everything works. Mileage is only 8500, which probably doesn't make much difference.
Thanks.

Good question, I own a '79 KZ750 B4 and I don't know the answer. I would not sell mine for $2000, but that doesn't mean much. I have seen some really old bikes that are "cherry" and low mileage on ebay for very high prices. If mileage is 8500 and the condition is like new, I would think $2500 - $3000 would be reasonable. If condition is less, price would also be.

Thanks, bountyhunter. Your reasoning makes sense. Maybe I'll bump it back up to $3k again.
I went with Progressive, but didn't get to talk to Flo.

I remember when I wrecked mine and the insurance company totaled it out, I had to research to see what they were selling for to make sure They didn't try to rip me off. The guy actually appreciated it because I was basically doing his job for him. Thanks, bountyhunter. Your reasoning makes sense. Maybe I'll bump it back up to $3k again.
