I was impressed enough with this deal to post the results....
i also noticed my account had NOT been debited yet so i called this morning and learned that they dont debit it until the order has been pulled and packed to ship....so that might be worth knowing if a guy thinks he still has extra bucks ...take into account they wait to final bill...i did get an order confirmation with billing tracking ect....
any how.....no sales tax unless ordered from S carolina...and 4.99 shipping and handling..:woohoo:
my order tallied out cheap imo...

that is a 10 outta ten....the only tires i ever used that i liked this much were the 80's dunlop supersports with the 45* S patterns....
these also i'm noticing are pretty polular at the quail classic on full tilt era street bikes...the profile and edge detail is worth it imo....classic ,grippy.long life..cheap,name brand tires...
click pic to see closer tire profiles....the 100/90/19 v rate
and mt/90/16/v rate look to match the tires that fit these rims and this chassis set up imo...and have a modern tread and crisp raised edge side transition...

Keep an eye on them. That's what I have on the front of mine and the tread blocks started splitting after less than 1000 miles. They gave me a new tire, hope that one was a fluke.Got a set of Dunlop D404's from Motorcycle Superstore.$132 delivered to my door.No tax,no shipping.Got a local guy to install off bike for $23 each, and balanced.Stock sizes for my 750 and 1100.

OK rant over tires over. I'm getting worse on tires than repaints. I like stock as it looks and works best.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I've had the Avon Roadriders on the KZ650 for about 3000 miles. Nothing major to report. They are a fine tire, seem to be wearing very well too. I can't say they are any better than the Dunlop 501 but one thing for sure is Dunlop doesn't make inch size tires in either the 501 or 404 so they look stupid if you attempt to run a 110/90-18 on the rear and the 404 is better suited to a bicycle than a motorcycle. The Roadrider is a good tire, not terribly expensive and available as a 3.25-19 and 4.00-18 is the best part. I think that's a lot of the reason they are wearing very well. Previously I ran 120/90-18 on the rear which is too wide for the wheel so you get quick wear right in the center as the center is all that's contacting the road. Later I fell for the 404 and got the "stock replacement" 110/90-18. Junk and too narrow and low profile and a deathtrap after 5000 or so miles, but wore real good. Tire as hard as plastic generally do wear well, but plastic on wet roads is not my idea of a safe tire and that size is *NOT RIGHT". 120/90-18 is not right, 110/90-18 is not right X10. You'll get a great combo with the roadrider in 4.00-18 and 3.25-19.

I didn't know anybody was still making true English size tires. The metric equivalents are not an exact replacement. I got some tires with BOTH sizes stamped on them (like 4.00-18 and 110-90-18) which means they were lying at least a little bit. I agree the 110-90-18 are a little small for the 4.00-18 bikes and the 120-90-18 seem to be a little too fat.
