How much vibration do you get in them when the bikes running? I switched to a non stock set after the stock ones started moving at speed, but the ones i switched too vibrate so damn much, you can only tell there is a car behind ya somewhere.

What were you using before? How do those compare to a Z1R style short stem mirror?

The vibration in the mirrors is a lot less than in the stock Kawasaki short stemmed round (78 Z1R stile) mirrors. There is a little bit but there is complete visibility to the rear at all speeds On my GPz1150 11:1 compression .420 lift cams.

the mirrors sure are a pain. i have 1 stock long round kz mirror and it works flawless. i have tried 3 dif 1's on the other side with no luck, they all buzz very badly. 1 set i bought was supposed to be stock, but they turned out to be aftermarket.
i prefer the look of the shorts, but the long's give me an unobstructed view, without my shoulder blocking the view.

otto, are these supposed to be the short, or long version ?

No distortion is great if you can see behind you. The wide angle is what allows you to see behind you on narrow handle bars. I had no distortion either on my OE mirrors but all I saw were my shoulders. That is what this thread is about. The trick is to see behind you. Who cares about distortion since you look over your shoulder anyways for the close up situations. And if you don't look over your shoulders when you change lanes than, Oh well that is another problem. The problem we are talking about is when you have to shift your whole body to see behind you. With these mirrors you do not have to. If you don't have to shift your body to see behind you than there is no reason to even discuss these mirrors.

Nothing pithy about it. The point is that I had the OE Kawasaki mirrors on there and they did not work. This is why we are discussing these mirrors. You simply stated that your mirrors work for you. I am stating that those same mirrors do not work for my application, and applications for sport bars. That is all. I found mirrors that work on narrow handle bars, for people who are having problems with visual interference created by their shoulders. There was no poke intended.
