'76 front wheel on an '88? was created by Topper
I've been looking for a suitable replacement for the front wheel on my 1988 KZ305. It's hard to find anything I can afford.
I found a front wheel for a '76 KZ750 that looks good but I'm not sure how easy it will be to swap the two.
The '76 shares the same spokes and rim as my '88 but not the hub or axle.
I can't seem to find specs on things like axle length / width anywhere to see exactly what's different.
Can anyone provide a little guidance here? Where could I find those specs? or what's the chance this could work?
Thanks!

I'm not sure how much help this will be, but the cross-ref at Kawasaki.com shows that the 81 KZ750-CSR Twin hub is the same. Or you might be able to swap out some cast alloy wheels from a 440 - the 82 G1 is a belt drive model.
Here's a KZ305 wheel - not sure if it's the same as yours.

That KZ305 wheel looks about like the one I'm trying to replace.
Is there anyplace I can look up specs like axle dimensions?

Thanks. I used the parts diagrams to figure out that the axle and hub are not the same part number for these two wheels. The rim and spokes are though.
I couldn't find anything on Kawasaki.com that would tell me what exactly was different about the axle and hub. I guess I'm trying to figure out how close they are.

Looking at the bearings is a good idea. Unfortunately they don't seem to be a match. My '88 305 takes bearing part number 601B6302 and the '76 750B takes bearing part number 601B6203.
The '76 wheel comes complete with an axle, brake disk and everything. I'm inclined to get it and see if I can make it work.
Any idea what the different dimensions would be for these two bearings?
