Rebuilding a spoke wheel - truing stand

I need some ideas about how to rig up a truing stand. I can't weld so I imagine I would need to set up some means of holding the axle on a workshop table or something. The article, which is otherwise quite thorough, says almost nothing about this.
Does anyone have any pictures of their own truing stands they could share?
Thanks!

I'm considering rebuilding the front spoke wheel on my '88 KZ305. I found a great article on this from web bike world, but there's one piece I need more info on.

Instead of steel tubing you could use 2x2 wood... you really don't have to pin down the axles unless your really wailing on the nipples... but at that point you should back off because they are probably "too" tight.

THAT is an interesting idea! I have an extra set of forks and a triple clamp. Figure out way to clamp them to my work bench (an old dresser) and there we go.You could always just mount the rim to the forks where it belongs, and true it there.
