Fork spring removal was created by tpritchard
I have started to rebuild my 83 KZ550H2 GPZ and am trying to overhall the forks. I have managed to remove the spring from one fork but the other is giving me some issues. I have removed the circlip in the top but the plug will not come out. The plug does have some movement when I press it down, it just wont raise past the possition where the circlip was. Can anyone give me some tips about how to get the plug out? Thanks

Hammer and brass punch, tap the plug down and let the spring push it back up. Repeat until the plug is all the way out. Lube with some sort of oil.
