1976 KZ1000 seat interchange question. was created by Highlander
Can I use a later model KZ1000 LTD seat and frame and it bolt onto my bike without modifications?
I simply do not like the flat style factory seat that is on my bike now.

I'd be looking for '76- 80 LTD seats, I think all the tailpieces are same for those years so the seat pan and tailpiece will line up properly.

Yea, I would trade with ya. What style back fender/cover does yours have? According to some of the other posts 76-78 have the rounded rear FG cover over the chrome fender and 79 up may have a wider, more squared off rear fender cover. Not sure how the seat pans will fit and interchange between these?
Which style does your bike have? Rounded or Square?

oops, sorry I didn't respond, haven't logged in in a while...pics look the same though...should be a good trade as mine has 1 less rip, foam seems to be in good shape...how's the foam on yours?...if it's not so good it isn't necessarily a deal breaker. Actually now that I think about it, it might just be easier for us to just swap foam or we may be time and money ahead to both just get our own new foam in the style we want. I'm gonnna research a little if this might be do-able. Anyway, I'll get some pics up soon.

a quick check found that Z1 Enterprises sells Travelcade branded LTD style cover with foam for $100 but only the cover for the flat seat...I've seen the Travelcade cover for a cb750 and they were kinda shapeless and hokey lookin'...just for further info
