39mm forks in 38mm tree clamp? was created by jimmyjimmyjoe
I got a kz1000 and i cant find any kawasaki 21" front chrome rims so i may be going harley rims, plus they are cheaper.

So my 1988 kz1000 p-7 has 38mm forks do you think i could squeeze in some harley davidson 39mm forks so i could use the harley rim?

Im thinking this is the best way to go. I might could get the kz forks machined but?...

Could it be possible to lace a 21" rim to a Kawasaki hub? I'm not familiar with the spoke counts on either, but it seems easy enough to me. With all the guys who have built KZ choppers, there has to be some way to make a 21 fit that bike.

I wouldn't recommend trying to fit fork legs into triple clamps that are bored for a smaller size leg. Seems unsafe to me. I doubt that you would even be able to get the bolt started to clamp the leg if you were even able to stretch the clamp out far enough to fit a 1mm larger leg in there.

If you were dead set on using an HD front end, then get the whole front end with the triple clams, and swap a KZ stem in there.

My buddy Scott laced a 21" hoop to his standard KZ1000 hub, pretty sure he ordered the spokes and rim from Buchanan's. His handle here is ssalyer but he hasn't been on for a while, try a PM.

you would need to have the kz trees bored out to accept the bigger legs.
