Saddleman seat kz1000st was created by Brown_Muscle
I currently have a saddleman seat on my 79 kz1000st. I'm 5' 9" and generally i have to stand on the balls of my feet to reach the ground. By comparing pictures it seems like the original seat is a little lower. Does anyone have any experience with this seat, and will it make any height difference for me by switching to the original (which i have to acquire) Thanks!

I have a stock seat, drive an 80 ST, am 6'2" and while I can stand flat footed, I kinda feel like a wishbone in the process. I don't know if it'll make any difference for you. That being said, I am getting a seat like yours, so I'll know next month! I've lowered my rear shocks as much as I can, so I'm going to switch them out for some lower ones, but if you drop the rear and then lower the front, you should be able to keep the same steering geometry and be the flat footed. :) Just a thought.

Whenever a New Topic is started, it begins in the category forum where it's started.

For example, if viewing a thread in the Engine category, and start a new topic about seats while still in the Engine category, the new topic about seats will appear in the Engine category.

An easy way to start a new topic in the Chassis category is to first get into the Chassis category, and then start the new topic about seats, which will appear in the Chassis category.

At least that's the way it's supposed to work.

Good Fortune! :)

I ride with an aftermarket fiberglas seat, that's lower than the stock seat.
I also have one that's been cut down that is lower yet(salvaged pan).
Raise the forks and shorter shocks is all you can do,the bike is just tall.

Not sure how you're built but I'm 6'2" with a 33" inseam and though my stock seat has a custom cover the foam height is pretty much stock. I have slightly shorter shocks and the fork tubes a re up about an inch, bike feels really short to me set up this way.

Very nice looking ST you have there by the way!
