hey so im trying to decide what handlebars to get. im looking for ones that are lower but still comfortable over distance, e.g. not clubman. i was thinking european or superbike, but i cant find any pictures of ones installed. any ideas?
also i am looking for info about getting a sprocket upgrade to make takeoff faster. my thought here is that wouldn't it decrease top speed? any drawbacks? basically i want to try and make this bike more competitive with some of the modern 600cc sports bikes. is that even possible?

Including information about bike year and model may elicit better responses.
And it's easy to put the information in your signature where it will automatically appear in posted messages.
When done, the signature information appears in all posts, past and future.
And may be changed as often as desired.
Good Fortune!

I have the euro bars on my 1000LTD. Can't really see them in the pict, but you might be able to judge the hand position. I like mine.

The only way you might stay anywhere near a 600 is if the 600 is running on two cylinders, then you might have a chance.
110-120 hp and less than 400 lbs dry weight, match those numbers
The KZ650 is a fun bike, enjoy it for what it is and don't waste your time trying to make it into something it will never be (short of spending a gazillion dollars on it anyway).

Hey Riverroad, I like your bars. I am considering a euro or GP touring style bars. What brand is your bars? I was looking at the EMGO euro bars but am concerned that a 2 in rise is not comfortable.

Forgot about this topic lol. I'm still looking for something more sporty, but still comfortable to ride around 3 hour trips. Anyone have superbike or drag bars and use their bike as a daily rider or commuter? Or are there any other options?

I also ride a KZ650. I recommend the bars on Z1enterprises. Cheap, and very nice. The bars I ordered have about a 2-3" rise, and are a little longer than most superbike bars, which is perfect for accommodating the very long front brake master cylinder that comes on the KZ650. If you go too short, it will hit into your tachometer.
